I want to be a gestational carrier for my best friend. Do I need to ovulate in order for this to happen?

You have to be able to carry a pregnancy for it. It would be best to speak to your local ob/gyn or infertility specialist about what has to happen. Ideally you, your friend, and her partner should see an infertility specialist together.
