The success of tubal reversal depends upon various factors, including the patient's age, method of tubal ligation performed, and the tubal lengths remaining for repair. These are shown in our follow-up study of over 5000 tubal reversal patients.
The primary risk of tubal ligation reversal is the long term risk of ectopic pregnancy (10-15%). The risk of ectopic pregnancy in the general population is approximately 3%. Following our recommendations for Early Pregnancy Monitoring can prevent the risk of rupture of an ectopic pregnancy.
